Is glass pool fencing allowed?

Areas We Service

We proudly offer Pool Fencing Inspections, Pool Compliance Inspections, and Swimming Pool Compliance Inspections throughout Melbourne metropolitan, Mornington Peninsula, Geelong, and regional Victoria. Whether you’re a homeowner, landlord, or commercial property manager, we’re here to ensure your pool is safe and compliant with all local laws.

Our services also include Spa Inspection, Spa Fence Inspection, Spa Fence Inspections, and Spa Safety Inspections, ensuring your spa barriers meet Victorian safety standards.

New Pool & Spa Registration and Inspection Requirements

As of 1 December 2019, new laws were introduced in Victoria to improve pool and spa safety. These laws include registration, inspection, and certification requirements for pool owners.

As a pool or spa owner, you must:

  1. Register your pool or spa with your local council.
  2. Once registered, schedule a Pool Safety Barrier Inspections service with a Registered Pool Inspector. That’s where Keep Safe Pool Fence Inspections can assist — we offer Pool Barrier Inspection, Poolside Inspections, and full Pool And Spa Safety Barrier Inspections.

If any non-compliance issues are found, they will need to be rectified before re-inspection. We can help guide you through the process, and once everything is fixed, we’ll issue your Pool Safety Certificate or Swimming Pool Safety Certificate to submit to your local council.

Maintaining Your Existing Pool or Spa

As a pool or spa owner, you are required to maintain the safety of your pool barrier to prevent unauthorised access and ensure safety.

Regular Swimming Pool Safety Inspections, Pool Barrier Inspections, and Swimming Pool Fence Inspections help ensure your safety barriers remain compliant with Victorian regulations.

To help you assess the safety of your barrier, we’ve provided checklists based on the relevant standards for when your pool or spa was installed:

  • Pools Installed Before 8 April 1991
  • Pools Installed Between 8 April 1991 & April 2010
  • Pools Installed After 1 May 2010

If you’re making any changes to an existing safety barrier, a permit may be required, and the work must comply with the current regulations.

Our team can also guide you on Pool Fence Inspection Cost, compliance requirements, and ongoing maintenance to ensure your pool or spa remains safe and compliant.
